From the 1974, the turkish army holds under
occupation, almost one half of a country that is recognised internationally
and in the United Nations. Since then, the turkish Government
has done nothing to end an occupation or even decrease the amount
of armed forces on the island.
Since then we've seen the creation of so called
"green line", i.e. the line that divides the
island and its history, grown by the green bushes between. We've
seen dramatic ethnical cleansing and genocide on Greeks and other
Christians on the island by turks. We've seen systematical settling
of turks from central Little Asia onto the island, on the lands
and in the houses of Greeks that were killed or driven out by
turkish Army.
The explanation was the turks were endangered before
the 1974 by the Greek population. If it was the case, how could
it happen that turkish forces made an assault and invasion on
the island so quickly, and have done mass killing of Greeks within
weeks?
These days, when the Cyprus is about to become a
member of the European Union, the case of an occupied territory
emerges as a cold shower. How could it happen to endure so long?
Is there anyone who loves justice in the world today?
Occupation forces should return to Little Asia.
Even there they did mass killings in the 1920-ties, on the same
Greek population. What do they want more? If the turkish state
was fed with something, it was with Greek and Orthodox blood.
Not anymore!
