An idea of Nea Byzantia

Cultures and civilisations don't die. They could only transfer from one nation to another, synthesising different origins, but always developing something unique. Customs and art always survive. All the countries of Old Byzantine world took a part of glory of the Great Church of Constantinople. That culture developed there something wonderful. Everywhere around - in Macedonia, Thrace Palestine, Syria, Caucasus, Armenia, Serbia, Bulgaria, Romania, FYR of Macedonia, or Russia we still can see living monuments of Byzantine culture.

For thousands of years together, these countries were apart for centuries after, too. Many armies were fighting for these territories and all of them were trying to apart nations who lived there. That was, to enslave them more easily. They achieved. Why, we ask? Well, everyone's weak who is alone.

Imagine one country - from Adriatic sea to Korea, and from Sinai desert to the North Sea.. With millions of churches all over.. With prosperity, wealth and peace,.. Faith strong as rocks in everyone. No one to enslave or torture another people in that country.. in Νέα Ρωμαϊα (New Byzantium). Could it happen? That is primarily the question for Orthodox. And the answer lies in the soul of Orthodox people, in their consciousness. Because, it could happen. It only depends of us, Orthodox.

This Union is not just matter of cultural relations, but also represent goal of our economical strivings. One liberal economy, one big market - it has a global potential. One government of experts, one army - that all guarantees modern and peaceful life on the Globe.

Unite !

This is a call for action in all Orthodox countries all around. This is a call for all the governments in Orthodox countries. Start talks! Unite our countries at once! Stop fighting over minor questions like rule and leadership. It was proved that these nations could live together. History has approved that as it also had approved that fights made us weak and easy to conquer.

How to unite

Creation of Nea Byzantia could be divided in several phases. At first, Haemus (Balkan) Union as confederation of Serbia and Montenegro, FYR of Macedonia, Bulgaria, Greece and Romania must be proclaimed. After that, a special Orthodox block in the UN has to be made. Haemus (Balkan) Union, Russia, Ukraine, Cyprus, Armenia, Georgia and observers from regions of Palestine, Upper Epirus, Egypt, Syria, Little Asia have to create World Council of Orthodox Countries. That body would help all the Orthodox people around the Globe, protect it and make strong cultural and other links among them.

After years, union of Haemus (Balkan) states, Russia, Ukraine, Cyprus, Armenia, Georgia would transform in a single state, Nea Byzantia. And soon after, all other Orthodox people would join it.

There are occupied territories and enslaved nations in many parts of Old Byzantine territories. Regions of Smyrna Constantinople Kapadokia, Trapezount, Edessa, Cyprus, Upper Epirus, Bosnia and Herzegovina Central Asia and many other are still waiting for liberty. They will be free when NB is made. Therefore, we have an obligation to unite. To live together.

However, this program is NOT claimed against anyone. We are NOT trying to make another war and destruction in the world. All these things we are supporting are international co-operation and integration of Orthodox states in a peaceful way. The words "they will be free" mean they will be free in a way that all the Orthodox Christians will be able to celebrate their holidays, be free to organise cultural and national life, have freedom of speech and national language public usage, without any fear for their lives. We will therefore fight against any kind of terror or crushing of these liberties. United and liberate!

That is what governments of Orthodox countries should do immediately.

Our Movement is our effort in the right direction.
